Who we are

My Solace is operated by Kelly King. I am the controller of the personal data described below.

What we collect and why

• Account details (email, display name, theme choice) — to create your account, sign you in, and personalise the app. Legal basis: contract.
• Journal entries and Spirit's reflections — to provide the journal service and generate reflections you can revisit. Legal basis: contract.
• Trial and purchase records — to know whether you have access to Spirit. Legal basis: contract and our legitimate interest in preventing misuse.
• Technical data (IP address, device, basic logs) — to keep the service secure and working. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Who we share data with

• Hosting and infrastructure providers who store your account and journal data on our behalf.
• Our AI provider, who receives your journal entry only to generate Spirit's reply. We don't use your entries to train any model.
• Paddle.com Market Limited, our payment partner and Merchant of Record, for handling payments, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities where required by law.

International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the UK / EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK addendum, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or adequacy decisions.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account and journal entries for as long as you keep your account. If you delete an entry it's removed from our database. If you close your account, your personal data is deleted within a reasonable period afterwards, except where we are required to keep records for tax or legal reasons.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to my use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where I rely on it. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection regulator. To exercise any of these rights, contact me at smiiler999@hotmail.com. I'll respond within one month.

Security

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and isolated per-user data with row-level security — to protect your information.

Cookies

My Solace uses only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your theme. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Children

My Solace is not directed at children under 16. Please do not create an account if you are under 16.

Changes

We may update this notice from time to time. We'll post any new version here with a fresh "last updated" date.
